Royal City Bees is a New Westminster, British Columbia based beekeeping company specializing in beekeeping consulting and teaching. The owner, Mr. John Gibeau, first started beekeeping at age 10 and in year 2018 retired from a 2,200-honeybee colony operation. He has designed, implemented, and instructed the commercial beekeeping program at Kwantlen Polytechnic University from 2016 to 2019.
Mr. Gibeau wrote the beekeeping bylaw for the City of New Westminster and has consulted on bee bylaws for surrounding municipalities. He has also designed programs for developing countries and has taught beekeeping in Uganda, Ethiopia, Dominican Republic, and Haiti. He plays the cello, but not very well.
Mr. Gibeau is a proud active member of the New Westminster Beekeeper’s Association.
